SAU Students Connected with Industry Representatives During Virtual Career Fair

Virtual Industry Workshop In Session

The 2020 SAU Virtual Career Fair was held on Thursday, October 15, 2020.  The full day virtual event was hosted by the Career Exploration, Mentoring and Professional Development Department under the leadership of Interim Director Dr. Trish Harleston.

The Career Fair – Virtual Edition connected over 50 students with industry representatives from 20 different organizations for a day of networking, interviews, workshops and group sessions. There was a total of 5 group events throughout the day that allowed students the opportunity to meet via virtual platform with Organizational Executives and Recruiters. A total of 70 students created professional profiles via the Know.Careers platform used for the event. The platform allowed students to record a Video Profile (elevator speech) that was visible to the participating company professionals along with their resume.

Students had an opportunity to be randomly selected to win three door prizes during the event. Listed below are the winners from the School of Business, Management and Technology and the School of Humanities, Education, Social & Behavioral Sciences:

Congratulations to all the students who participated in these opportunities with our industry partners.

I am blown away by my experience with SAU so far. The 2 pm session you helped get the word out on went beyond my expectations. Your students were prepared, thoughtful, engaged, and there was 3 pages of attendees (and more who weren’t on video!). This is far beyond some of the experiences we’ve had with other institutions, so thank you.”  Bill Nave, Financial Advisor, Morgan Stanley

We had 13 students in our first session, which was the most out of any school so far. We were very impressed that everyone showed up in professional attire, they were engaged and asked great questions.” Erika Clausson, Sr. Talent Acquisition Consultant, Channel Advisor
