Chief of Police Conducts Training

Last week, Chief of Police George Boykin III conducted a campus security authority training with Residence Life and Housing, which is mandated by the U.S. Department of Education. The training program is based on the Jeanne Clery Act, originally known as the Campus Security Act. This Act requires colleges and universities across the United States to disclose information about crime on and around their campuses. The law is tied to an institution’s participation in federal student financial aid programs and it applies to most institutions of higher education both public and private. It is designed to assist those who do not work in the campus law enforcement, public safety or security department.
